The work by Pierre Auguste Renoir which is displayed in one of my favourite museums, the Musée d’Orsay, housed in a former railway station on the left bank of the Seine, is one of my favourite works by an Impressionist artist. Depicting the scene at a dance garden in Montmarte, Paris, Renoir has captured the mood and fluidity of the scene so well that just staring into the painting, you’d feel that you are caught up in the movement of the dance and the joy and excitement of the moment.
