RIP Patrick Swayze (1952 to 2009)

Nothing Gold can stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

– Robert Frost

I first watched Patrick Swayze in the 1983 movie The Outsiders. Swayze played Darrel, a father figure to his brothers and a group of boys who grew up on the outside of society. The movie featured this poem by Robert Frost.
