Spotted last week at a void deck in one of Singapore’s housing estates – an ang mo man in a nonya kebaya. And, if you are as puzzled as the little girl in the photograph is as to what this is all about, do stay tuned … all will soon be revealed …

Featuring 160 ‘secret’ spots in Singapore, Secret Singapore is a guide on which I had the pleasure of working on with Heidi Sarna.

The little girl is too cute. 😀
My dear Jerome Lim,
I can hardly believe my eyes – that photo of the ang mo man in a nonya kebaya! Is he one of the “foreign talents” now infesting Singapore? In the UK (or in Australia) such creatures are known a queers. Well, well, ang mo man in nonya kebaya – macham monyet kena blachan.
Hahaha … does at first glance seem like monyet kena blachan … but can assure you that nothing queer about the man – foreign and talented as he might be … just wait and see, all will soon be revealed … 🙂
Ny dear Jerome Lim:
You are indeed a Master of Suspense! We await with bated breath for you to reveal why that monyet was wearing nonya kebaya. Meanwhile I call upon my Peranakan brothers and sisters in Singapore to rise and defend our culture…. Kus semangat, no infestation by ang mo kwee!!!
Congratulations Singapura, on winning bronze at London Olympics…You can do it!!!
My dear Jerome Lim:
Sorry if I sound a little bit hard on that monyet!
Regards.
My dear Jerome Lim:
At last all is revealed…..that ang mo in kebaya!
He is not a monyet after all.
Take heart my Peranakan Brothers and Sisters, no panic, he is just a kucing gila!!
Thank you Jerome Lim for your ever interesting blogs to keep us bright and cheerful along the Long Winding Road of Life.
Regards.
